Starting on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 and every Monday and Tuesday through March, by appointment only, tax clients may drop off their tax documents to: MONDAYS • Hammond Public Library between the hours of 9am and noon. • East Chicago Public Library between the hours of 2pm and 5pm. TUESDAYS •Northwest Indiana Community Action, between the hours of 9am and 3 pm. • Gary Public Library between the hours of 9am-12pm. Tax returns will be prepped and ready for pickup the following Monday or Tuesday. We will gather some intake information when you drop off your documents and we will review your tax return with you when you arrive to pick up your document. Free Tax Preparation Assistance @ Porter County Location (951 Eastport Centre Drive, Valparaiso, IN 46383 (219) 464-3583) The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax preparation services to taxpayers with an adjusted gross income of $60,000 or less. IRS-certified volunteers provide free federal and state tax return preparation to qualified persons. Annually, the program begins in February and runs through April 13.
