We offer the following services at no charge. Pregnancy Testing: Our tests are laboratory rated. They can detect the hCG pregnancy hormone as early as 7 days after conception or 21 to 24 days after the first day of your last period. The test is more than 99% accurate with instant, same day results. Abortion Consultation: Our medical staff are available to consult with you about your medical options. To ensure your comfort and well-being, all of our medical staff are credentialed. Ultrasound: Ultrasound exam to confirm the pregnancy is located within the uterus and gestational age (or how many weeks pregnant you are). Ultrasound can determine if the pregnancy is viable. It is important for your long term health since 1 in 4 confirmed pregnancies will end in miscarriage. The Women’s Center of Northwest Indiana does not perform or refer for abortions. We do not use ultrasound to determine sex. Some restrictions apply. Abortion Information: We provide information about medical and surgical abortions. We will discuss with you the types of abortions that are performed based on how far along you are.

If you suspect you are pregnant either due to a missed period or have early signs of pregnancy, you can walk in to one of our clinics anytime between 8:30am to 5:00pm to receive a free pregnancy test. A prenatal nurse will provide you with a urine pregnancy test where you will receive results within minutes. If your test comes back positive, NorthShore staff can provide you with information on our many Board Certified OB/GYN doctors and midwives and assist you with scheduling your first prenatal visit. Additionally, the prenatal nurse will provide you with a verification of pregnancy if needed for insurance purposes. For patients that do not have insurance, a Certified Insurance Navigator is available to help you enroll in Medicaid if eligible or choose an insurance plan that will be active and available once you begin seeing a doctor for prenatal care. If you find out you are not pregnant, NorthShore staff can assist you with scheduling an appointment with an OB/GYN if you are still concerned with your physical symptoms or if you want more information on birth control or contraceptive care options.

NonprofitFor our high-risk patients, including those over 60 years old and those with chronic illnesses, we will do all we can to address all of your needs without having to bring you into the clinic during this time. We will be contacting patients to ensure we are scheduling appointments according to these new guidelines, and appreciate all of your patience during this time. Patients should not bring anyone to their appointment, unless necessary, and make sure they are not joined by any individuals that are symptomatic. Our plan is to roll out telehealth and drive-up visits/testing to address ongoing medical needs as soon as possible and we will release more information as it becomes available. All HealthLinc patients and visitors will receive a temperature screening when entering a clinic. If a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees is detected, we will place you in a separate part of the waiting room or ask you to wait in your vehicle.
